CEO, KLT Educational Consulting

Katina L. Thomas, Ed.D., is the founder and CEO of KLT Educational Consulting and has more than twenty years of experience in the field of education. In addition to developing English as a Second Language (ESL) and culturally relevant curriculum, she specializes in coaching, mentoring, and training teachers in evidence-based techniques for primary and secondary instruction.

As a result of Katina’s dedication to advancing equity in education, she has written articles and book chapters that promote culturally relevant instruction across the literacy curriculum and differentiated instructional strategies that assists learners from diverse backgrounds. In addition to having previously taught in the EC-12, she has hosted conference seminars, roundtable discussions, and workshops for educators on topics like cultural competency, teaching English as a Second Language, and the growth of science-based literacy. As a result, participants have acquired teaching strategies that are in line with state standards as well as methods to support the process of becoming certified as an educator.

Katina has a strong commitment to providing teachers with the knowledge and tools they need to accomplish this goal for both themselves and their students. She believes that a crucial element of a successful lesson plan is educational equity.
